Naked angel bookplates
Design development
Original drawing on lino 2004, 2.5 x 5 inches.
The first version of this drawing was done in pencil. Here I copied the drawing onto the lino and inked it ready to cut the lino for printing. This image is scanned from the prepared lino block and the contrast enhanced using image processing software.
The head Sublime, the heart Pathos, the genitals Beauty, the hands & feet Proportion. - from the Proverbs of Hell, The Marriage of Heaven and Hell, William Blake.
At this stage I decided not to draw any traces of clothing, reasoning that my angel radiates truth and requires no covering.
