You could have a short text beautifully illuminated and ready for framing at a reasonable price. Calligraphy can be posted anywhere in the world in a stout cardboard tube.
The cost of your project depends on the details of what you require, but as a rough guide, usual costs are as follows:
I use only acid-free paper and colours that are known not to fade. This is an area I take a great interest in, having discovered that some inks sold as calligraphy inks fade rapidly even in fairly dim light. I have consulted textbooks, and now limit myself to pigments that have stood the test of centuries (such as the earth colours) or their modern synthetic equivalents (such as ultramarine - chemically equivalent to lapis lazuli), or modern pigments believed on good grounds to be reliable (such as cadmium red). For black ink I use a carbon based Indian ink.
For a size comparison, the original of the gryphon below is 2.5x3.5 inches (6.4x8.8cm). Email me with your requirements for a quotation.
